First Lesson

Psalm 119:97-104
97 How I love your laws! I meditate on them all day long. 98 Your commandment makes me wiser than my enemies, because it is always with me. 99 I have more wisdom than all my teachers, because your testimonies are my meditation. 100 I have more understanding than the elders, because I guard your precepts. 101 I have kept my feet off every evil path in order to keep your words. 102 I have not turned from your judgments, because you yourself have instructed me. 103 How sweet are your sayings to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! 104 From your precepts I gain understanding. Therefore, I hate every false road.

Second Lesson

Revelation 2:1-7
“To the messenger of the church in Ephesus write: The one who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks among the seven gold lampstands, says this: 2 I know your works, your labor, and your patient endurance, and that you are not able to tolerate evil people. You have tested those who say they are apostles, but are not, and have found them to be liars. 3 Indeed, you do have patient endurance. You have endured hardships on account of my name and have not become weary. 4 But I have this against you: You have forsaken your first love. 5 Remember, therefore, the state from which you have fallen! Repent and do the works you did at first. Otherwise I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, if you do not repent. 6 But you do have this: You hate the actions of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. 7 Whoever has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious I will give the privilege to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.”

Gospel Lesson

John 17:20-26
“I am praying not only for them, but also for those who believe in me through their message. 21 May they all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I am in you. May they also be one in us, so that the world may believe that you sent me. 22 I have given them the glory you gave me, so that they may be one, as we are one: 23 I in them, and you in me. May they become completely one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me. 24 “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am so that they may see my glory—the glory you gave me because you loved me before the world’s foundation. 25 Righteous Father, the world did not know you, but I knew you, and these men knew that you sent me. 26 I made your name known to them and will continue to make it known, so that the love you have for me may be in them and that I may be in them.”
